The Borobudur Marathon 2024 successfully attracted 10,500 runners from 28 countries. With epic uphill routes and 24 Le Minerale water stations along the course, the event garnered appreciation from celebrities like Ririn Ekawati, Ibnu Jamil, and Tara Budiman, who highlighted the importance of optimal hydration for better performance.
MAGELANG – More than 10,000 runners conquered challenging uphill tracks and crossed the finish line at the Borobudur Marathon (BorMar) 2024, held in the Borobudur Temple area, Magelang, on Sunday (1/12/2024). The runners’ success was supported by the availability of Le Minerale at every water station along the race route, helping them stay fit and hydrated.
With its Road Race Label certification from World Athletics, BorMar carefully selected its official mineral water. Following a rigorous process of learning, verification, and validation, the organizers chose Le Minerale as the official mineral water for all water stations. This decision was based on Le Minerale’s proven track record in supporting other international running events. Its presence affirmed the brand’s commitment to quality essential minerals that ensure hydration and fitness for runners.
Borobudur Marathon is unique with its iconic and challenging uphill routes, which add to the excitement for participants. To address these challenges, Le Minerale water stations were strategically placed at 24 points along the marathon, half-marathon, and 10K routes. These stations served 10,500 participants, including runners from 28 other countries.
In addition to professional runners, several Indonesian celebrities joined the prestigious event themed “Run On, Mark It!” Among them were Ibnu Jamil, Ririn Ekawati, Tara Budiman, and Nirina Zubir.
After crossing the finish line, Ririn Ekawati shared her first experience participating in the Borobudur Marathon:
“The track was full of ups and downs, twists and turns, but it was so much fun. The enthusiasm from the locals created a positive vibe. It turns out this sport is really enjoyable for me—it’s like a form of meditation. While running, I felt both physically and mentally healthy,” she said.
Ririn also appreciated the presence of Le Minerale water stations along the route:
“When running, you definitely need mineral water to replenish lost minerals. Le Minerale was a huge help because it contains quality minerals and tastes refreshing,” she noted, adding that her family also regularly consumes Le Minerale at home.
Ririn’s husband, Ibnu Jamil, a marathon enthusiast, compared the Borobudur Marathon to the New York Marathon, emphasizing its unique local charm:
“The cheering was incredible! Every village along the route had its own entertainment, which kept the spirit alive. Especially when reaching a Le Minerale water station—its refreshing taste kept us going. I hope Le Minerale continues supporting events like this,” he said.
Meanwhile, Tara Budiman admitted that he never skipped a Le Minerale water station during the run to stay energized for the challenging uphill course:
“I always stop at the Le Minerale water stations because we need to replace the minerals we lose. Thankfully, Le Minerale was abundantly available, and it’s the only brand that clearly lists its quality mineral content on the bottle. For runners, this is so important,” he stated.
According to Tara, Le Minerale significantly boosted the participants’ performance, including his own. He even revealed that Le Minerale is the only mineral water he and his family consume daily.
